New Feature: Tip Jar

Today, we are happy to announce the addition of a new feature available to all PodPledge users. Effective immediately, supporters will have the option of adding a "tip" to the pledges they make on the site. The purpose of these tips is to provide a way for supporters to "chip in" towards the fee associated with processing online payments. This fee is usually paid by the project owner. By providing a "tip", more money goes to the creators you support!

How It Works
Whether you are making a one-time, monthly, quarterly, or annual donation to a project, its pledge page will now include a "Tip Jar" option. The amount of the tip will be based on the estimated payment processing fees of your donation.

Selecting "yes" will apply the tip to the donation you make that day. And, if you sign up to make automatic monthly, quarterly or annual donations to the project, your tip will automatically be applied to those ongoing payments as well.

The "Tip Jar" is designed to be an extra bonus for the project owner, to help mitigate the payment processing fees that are otherwise deducted from the funds they earn. As such, the tips paid with the "Tip Jar" option are not applied towards earning Project Incentives. (The full amount of the donation itself is still applied towards earning Project Incentives, as usual.)

Using the "Tip Jar" is completely optional. This allows supporters to better manage their own personal budgets, and maintain complete control over the projects that they back.
