  • Incentives
  • Thank You!

  • Take The Credit
    $15 USD
Your name will be included in the list of financial sponsors in the end credits of every applicable episode produced through Season 3.

Showing off your name in the credits is a great way impress your friends, enrage your foes, or try in vain to prove your identity at the DMV.
  • Wear It Like A Badge
    $25 USD
If you have a BoardGameGeek.com account, you'll receive the Pair Of Dice Paradise microbadge.

(Well, technically speaking, you'll receive 8 GeekGold, which you can use to get the Pair Of Dice Paradise microbadge.)

I only have enough GeekGold to award a few dozen badges, so it's first come, first served for this one!
Sold out!
  • Question Everything? Really?

Does every board game have a silver lining?

That’s the question asked by Pair Of Dice Paradise, a video podcast bringing you news and commentary about board games, hosted by a lover of the hobby who has his head in the clouds.

Some games are great, while others are... well, the kindest way I can put it is that they're an apocalyptic blight against civility. But which is which?

Our host, Chaz Marler, helps navigate viewers through the growing catalog of board games that are being produced every year, with game overviews, discussions on the hobby, and maybe even a music video or two thrown in as well.

Some popular segments include:

Thrift Sift
Showcasing bizarre games
found at thrift stores.
Get Your Wings
Reviews and previews of new games
and old favorites.
Head In The Clouds
A weekly editorial on different aspects
of the board game hobby.

Season 3 Fundraising Goals

Making Multiple Months of Media
The goal of this fundraiser is to raise enough to finance the first five months of Season 3. Reaching this fundraiser's goal of $6,250 will provide the finances necessary to approach Pair Of Dice Paradise as a scheduled, part-time job (instead of just a hobby worked on during spare time) during those months. That's an estimated 40 episodes of new content.
If the target fundraising goal is met, then the next items to be financed after that include:
Video Upgrade
Regular viewers may have noticed the $200 camcorder I use sometimes has trouble staying in focus. More than once, I've had to re-record a segment due to spontaneous-camera-blurrification. I'd love to upgrade our camera. I've had my eye on a Canon Vixia HF-G30 for quite a while (around $1,200), and recently discovered it's also used by several other prominent video podcasters, which is a good endorsement.
Audio Upgrade
Regular viewers may have also noticed periodic "clicks" in our audio, courtesy of my current, slowly dying mic. It's even more distracting than the camera's random blurs, so I'll often record multiple takes, just to increase the odds of getting a "click-free" take. I'd like to invest in either a Zoom H4N digital recorder (around $200) or Sennheiser EW112P G3 Lav Mic (around $630), both also recommended by other content creators.
Onward Into The Future...
I'm trying something different with this fundraiser, setting it to just to cover the first half of Season 3. I'd like to continue experimenting with revenue streams to diversify financing the show as much as possible. We'll see what happens in the next few months. If all goes well, opportunities to finance the remainder of Season 3 will become available as the year continues.

Incentive Rewards

What's a fundraiser without some ways to say thank you for your pledge of support? A complete list of incentives is listed down the left-side of the page, but here some of the highlights:

Question Everything? Really?
The first five supporters to reach the $40 pledge level will have the opportunity to submit a question or topic (pending administrative approval), which Chaz will answer or address in a video. Sew Good!
Supporters that reach the $65 pledge level will receive a Pair Of Paradise embroidered patch, suitable for sewing onto your favorite shirt, hat, or khaki gaming vest. The artwork for the patch design is in development, but it's planned to be based on the Pair Of Dice Paradise logo, and estimated to be 3 to 4 inches in size. Limited quantity available.
To Coin A Phrase
Supporters that reach the $80 pledge level will receive a Pair Of Dice Paradise two-inch gold coin that has been designed specifically for this Season 3 campaign. These are minted, brushed gold coins with enamel inlays, featuring the character Russet Taupe on one side, and his signature phrase "Oh Yeah!" on the other. Limited quantity available.

Content creation is always susceptible to unexpected obstacles. Computer hardware and/or equipment could fail, software can malfunction, or members of the production team could be unavailable due to illness. Video production, as with any endeavor, comes with its own unique challenges. While delays in content production are possible, we will use our experience in production and project management to not only make every effort possible to keep production running as smoothly as possible during any unforeseen difficulties, but also to retain transparency by communicating any issue with our audience while they are resolved.
